Copied from the breeding section of MFK. I haven't seen a breeding section on AC but maybe some of you guys have an answer for me.

My glofish are spawning. They've laid eggs a few times. I lost the eggs once to broken heater and lost the fry the first time because it was my first week with fish and had no idea what to do. I'm ready now and have 50-100 glofish fry starting to hatch today.

They are in a 10g tank filled with around 2.5g (left the water low with a grate because people said low water induced spawning).

Where do I go from here. I can't really afford the shipping on just a bit of liquid fry food right now and don't have an infusoria culture. I'm going to go the hard boiled egg route. I'm worried I will add too much though and cloud my water and kill them. I'm also worried I won't add enough and will starve them.

Any tips or help anyone can offer would be very appreciated.

Hi all. I just upgraded to a new tank last night (or this morning if you count how long i was up working on it). I had a 5gal and soon jumped into a 20L. I had the 20L running for a few years and was quite happy with it. Recently tried upping the plants in the 20L and that didn't go so well. While this went on i was seeking a 29-36gal or a stand to hold a 2nd 20 or something of a cheap upgrade. My garage sale addict mom found for me a 46gal bowfront, stand (this thing is indestructable!), and a few boxes of odds and ends for $25. So i got a really great deal and got everything set up last night.

For my substrate, i had some old Fluorite kicking around from an old idea i'd had and didn't complete. So i laid that down as the base, leaving 2in around the perimeter. I moved the sand from the 20L on top of that and added another 20lbs or so of new sand on top of the old sand. I moved my driftwood, rock, coconut cave into the 46 and filled the whole thing up and barely stirred up a cloud. I moved in my crypts, dwarf sag, and java ferns along with all the equipment. My Fluval 204 is probably not the best choice for this tank, of course. I have a penguin 100, a lousy barely functioning toms rapid filter and a sponge filter. I have lighting enough right now for low light to slightly above low light plants and i need a lid of some kind.

Everything's up and running and looks fine, albeit a bit naked. Fish are active and aside from having space to occupy, i'm satisfied.

Stock at moment:
3 Glofish, 8 cory habrosus, 1 pearl gourami, 2 flying fox

Fish i'm interested in:
Kuhli loaches
Clown loaches, though i fear them getting too big
Plecos, again i fear it will get too large. I have no desire for a gigantic fish at all! I don't want something i can filet.
Corys. My absolute favorite! I know i'll get more of these, but unsure what variety.
Top and mid level swimmers that shoal. We have a 4mo old baby girl who loves watching the fish and i want to give her something visually exciting.

So that's it for now. What would YOU stock this with? I know my wife wants pretty, colorful fish. I don't care what we get as long as a) i get my corycats, b) i have a happily stocked community tank.

Here's what i'm working with right now:

I am selling this as a reptile tank. It has been used for fish up to this point. I had to take this tank down for some major house construction. When I was cleaning it up, I saw several places that the silicone is coming loose. I decided that it was more work than I wanted to reseal it and I am not risking a failure since the tank sits on the second floor of an old farm house.

The tank is in decent shape. Lots of minor scratches along the bottom portion of the glass where it was in contact with the gravel. There are lime/calcium deposits on some areas of the frame and on the back glass.

Asking $25. Pick up only. Contact me by pm.

Hi I have a 75 gallon freshwater Community aquarium, and I was wondering if someone could help me with something? Currently in the tank i have 3 cory's, 5 rummy nose tetras, 2 candycane tetras,2 small german blue rams(they are an inch they are so cute), 3 hatchet fish, 4 pencil fish, 3 pengiunfish, about 20 guppies, and 8 danios. And for filtration i have 2 undergravel filters run off of 2 marina 200 air pump, 2 aquatech 30-60 outsidefilters, 1 little power head in the middle for circulation, and i have 4 bubble wands run off its own pump. I would like to take the power head and one of the aquatech filters off. And I was at the petstore today and they had a few fluval 205 canisterfilter.I know they not the newest one but i can get it for cheap, so my question is that enough filtration for these fish, I can wait and get a fluval 406 but im wondering if that would be to much flow for these little fish?

Am setting up my 55 gallon aquarium, it is on a nice wooden stand cabinet and today I checked it out to see if it was level. The front of the tank on both sides are aprox. 1/4" or around that to low. I know that there is an amount that a tank can be off without affecting anything, is 1/4" O.K. or should I raise up the front of the stand? The stand is setting on a semi thick carpet so I'm not exactly sure on the best way to do it. Haven't checked the length of the tank for leveling yet but will do it soon. I'm wanting to eventually put some pool filter sand into the tank and maybe add a bag or two of black sand or some other color for a little color on the bottom, I'm really wanting to put some multi shell dwellers into the tank and raise some.
